The course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn how to pronounce Kundalini Yoga mantras and Guru Nanak’s Jap(u) Ji correctly, experience the sounds, recognise the quality of the vibration and deepen their understanding of the wonderful poetic images that make up the Shabd Guru.
The course is structured in 12 classes of one and a half hours each:
the first 6 lessons are an introduction to Gurmukhi, the alphabet of the Sikh scriptures,
the second half of the course is dedicated to Guru Nanak’s Jap(u) Ji.
After an initial analysis of the historical context in which Gurmukhi was born and the linguistic composition of the Shabd Guru,
we will learn to recognise and vibrate the letters of the alphabet, we will do exercises to understand the technique of pronouncing the sounds and grasp their subtle qualities, with reference to some of the mantras used in Kundalini Yoga.
The next six lessons will focus on Jap(u) Ji, Guru Nanak’s main work and the foundation of the entire body of teachings present in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
We will go through the Pauri, literally “steps” that compose this unique poetic work, shared as a heritage for the whole human kind.
We will follow the verses like footsteps on a path, revealing the journey of the self towards infinity and the process of crystallisation of infinity in the self.
We will contemplate the images and reflect on treasures that each stanza contains, connecting to the teachings transmitted by Guru Nanak both in a personal and in a impersonal way to experience the vibration of the heart and savour the eternal spring of the Soul.
During the course, material for individual study and further exploration will be shared.
The lessons are and open to everyone.
The start and end dates of the next cycle of classes will be published soon.
